21st Century Science is designed to offer a fresh approach to science for Year 10 and Year 11 students (KS4). This project is a collaboration between the Nuffield Curriculum Centre and the University of York Science Education group.
21st Century Science designed to meet the needs and interests of students, and be wholly appropriate for science education in the 21st century. Over 60 schools will be taking part in the pilot. Citizenship, both local and global aspects, is a strong unifying feature of three distinct courses. The different courses have been designed for students who may go on to higher level academic or embark upon vocational courses. The website
21st Century Science provides more details of this new and exciting course.
SciGallery.org will be providing free resources which will be designed to complement and enrich the learning process for these new courses. It will also offer the opportunities for different schools to contribute, in the true spirit of
'Open Source' resources.
Our
Online Learning Zone 1 will also offer additional guidance for students to assist them with resources, projects, and assignments. Additional opportunities will also be available for students and schools to work in collaborative assignments, discussions and projects.
